Why you are not losing weight

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, how careful you choose what you eat or how closely you track calories – you still don’t lose weight. Actually, in one survey trainers from all around the world said that “Why I’m not losing weight?” is one of the most common questions. If you have ever tried to lose weight, you too have certainly at times thought that you are doing everything right, but still not losing weight.

Of course, there are hundreds of different reasons why you are not losing weight, but in the most cases there are a few different scenarios that stop people from getting results they want and luckily each of this scenarios can be easily solved:

You eat back all the calories that you have burned during exercise

Losing weight can be easily calculated – on one side you have your daily calorie intake and on another the amount of calories you burn throughout the day. Now, if you need, for example, 2000 calories – if you eat more than that you are going to gain weight, if you eat less you are going to lose weight. It is quite simple, isn’t it? The only problem is that people often tend to overestimate the amount of calories they burn and end up eating more than they should have.

You are focusing only on exercising

Exercising is very important for weight loss, however, it is not the only thing you should focus all your attention to. There is a quote in the fitness world – ”You can’t out exercise a bad diet” – and it is quite true. In order for you to lose weight effectively you are going to have to exercise and have a healthy diet.

Your diet is not as healthy as you think

With the current popular meals and diets in United States – it is no wonder that many people have health problems and are overweight. However, there is one more interesting phenomenon – one survey asked people what kind of diet they have and do they consider it healthy – it was unbelievable that a lot of people claimed for their unhealthy diets that are perfectly healthy. The thing is – we all think that we have the perfect diet – even if we don’t. The solution for this problem simple – you just have to be honest with yourself and about your diet or if you really don’t know whether your diet is healthy or not – you can always consult a nutritionist.

You are not doing the right exercises

The problem with exercising is that there are many different types and machines and media is another thing – one day strength training is the best way to lose weight, second day the only way to lose weight is cardio – not just your classic elliptical session – but high intensity interval trainings etc. The truth is that every exercise will burn calories, but when it comes to losing weight and getting in shape – cardio is still the best type of exercises for burning calories.
