How to achieve a flat belly

One of the most difficult parts of body to shape is the abdomen. Having a flat belly is a goal for many, but, unfortunately, many don’t come near to it. There are many different factors that can affect the shape and the size of your belly and some of them are not related to fitness in any way. During certain time of month, women experience bloating and that is something that can’t be avoided. Experts say that certain foods that we eat, can make our stomach bloat, but it is also very hard to determine which foods, because not all bodies react the same.

The interesting thing is that even people who are generally not obese or overweight can have problems with round belly and sometimes they can’t lose that last couple of pounds that seem to be stuck to the abdomen.

If you want to have flat belly, you will have to work hard in the gym and out of it, because many experts say that you have to use different mix of processes, so you could tone the abdomen. There are ways to do it, but doing only exercises that target abdomen will not do the trick.

Many experts believe that this is the way to a flat belly:

First of all, you will have to incorporate exercises that target abdomen – exercises like crunches and sit ups are among the easiest to learn, but they are not the only one you can do – v-ups, boards and scissor kicks are among many that target muscles of the abdomen.

You have to workout and be consistent. Even when you are not in the mood, don’t forget why you are doing these exercises.

You can prevent bloating by drinking lots of water – drinking lots of water every day speeds up your metabolism and helps clean your body.

There are certain foods that increase chance of bloating, so, no matter what your diet is, make sure that you avoid: sweets, processed foods, boxed foods, pastries and alcohol.

On the other hand, there are foods that are recommended to eat when you want to have flat stomach. These foods are:  spinach, apples, mushrooms, legumes, nut butters and fat-free greek yogurt.

Start a food diary – experts say that is a great idea to keep diary of what you eat, every day. The benefits of this kind of diary are: you will be able to see what your eating habits are, how many “occasional” drinks or desserts you really have and what food you generally prefer to eat.

From time to time, someone says that you should lower down the amount of calorie intake to reduce abdomen fat. This is true if you are overweight and you generally need to lose weight. However, if you are already on a strict diet or you have a satisfying weight, you shouldn’t lower your calorie intake anymore, since your body needs food to function properly. Instead, try to eat more clean food, that is not processed, do some exercises for abdomen and make sure that you drink a lot of water.
