Those who have tried it, say that it is the best way to sweat and that it is really demanding. Anyone can do it, but it is not for everyone

Crossfit can be quite hard, especially for those who have not exercised in last couple of months or those who are overweight. However, crossfit experts say that everyone can do it, but it can be too much for some. When it comes to working out, people tend to stick to workouts they enjoy, so if you don’t like crossfit, try something else.

Crossfit dictionary

If you have tried starting with crossfit, but you were faced with lots of words that appear out of context – you are not the only one. Crossfit has its own “language” and we have explained below some of the most used terms:

Box – box is a name for a crossfit gym

WOD – short for “workout of the day”. WODs are posted on the whiteboard in the gym or on the site of the gym

AMRAP – short for “as many rounds as possible”. This means that you should repeat a series of workouts as many times as possible within the timeframe determined by your coach.

Benchmarks of WODs are named after women.

One of the things you should do before joining a crossfit box is to do your research until you find the right gym for you. There are lots of things you could do before joining a crossfit box: read online reviews, ask your friends about it or simply go to see a class or two.

Injuries do happen

Most of the people believe that they can easily get hurt while doing crossfit, luckily, this is far from the truth. Actually, injuries are very rare when it comes to crossfit, but still injuries do happen.

Crossfit is often believed to be “a man’s world”, but the statistics show that around 60 percent of all people doing crossfit are women.

It can be expensive

Depending on the crossfit box, one month membership can be anywhere from $100 up to $300, so it is quite expensive, but it is well worth the money.
